CAN A MAN BE BANNED FROM A MASJID OR PLACE OF WORSHIP

CAN A SAATIE BE BANNED FROM THE MASIET. (Doesnt really matter what end he bowls from)

The Fiqr is High…Its pumping. But now I have a serious question in light of what is happening in local media regarding the Cutty Amod banned from 23rd Mosque situation. So I say HOW CAN ANY SAATIE BE BANNED FROM A MOSQUE. Is it not Gods place of worship. No matter How wrong the SAATIE IS. To my knowlege Cutty was banned from 23rd street after an ongoing fued with Mutawalees. Something like that. FACT is he was BANNED. Can a man be banned from a MASIET….I dont think so. PS Forgive my spelling. Swoosh0018.com are renegade media. We want to hear what the people have to say and are simply posing the question

Hanif.Whats your take on the situation. Ive seen articles in the rising Sun and JHB Express etc. Can a man be banned. These days our Mutawalees have been lambasted for acting like owners. Sometimes when a new Mosque is built theyact like Ushers and always Usher me to category four. And look at me as If I dont own a frquent guest Card

If it’s for me.I can not comment on the issue as I am not familiar with the reasons.I can say that if a Musalli is unreasonably presenting himself in an unislamic manner then the Mutawallis has the right to ask him to avoid attending the Masjid. If he is reasonably and fairly raising his discontent then the Mutawallis have no right to do so as the Masjid is the House of Allah and they are only custodians. These days we tend to take ownership and control of Masjid’s as if we have become gatekeepers.

Years ago in Quwatul Masjid Molan G Bhaai was eveicted.Musallees were in rage as he was booted in peak Winter. Musalees and Mutawalees were in dispute about the right and wrong. The Mutawalees said that India Guys are stubborn and abuse the rights of tenants and refuse to pay rent and that setting a stern example was the only way. How far does someone have to go to actually be banned from a Mosque or place of worship

@ Ahmed Do you know the reason why Cutty was banned….

Masjids affairs and the man was banned. Hanif Cape Town has quite a rigid stance on such issues. What would their reaction be. There are also reports of Masjid rubble being dumped near Cuttys house which was becoming an issue.

Difficult to say or comment on the issue without knowing the facts. Like you said above it’s the House of Allah and thus should be treated that way, so if someone knowingly, openly and continuously transgresses the rules and eitquettes governing conduct in the Masjid then steps should be taken against that person. Banning someone appears extreme but the facts are not known so it’s impossible to comment on the specific matter.

We are loosing the plot…! like it was mentioned earlier, we are merely custodians and not owners…! how can you stop a person from fulfilling a fardh…?

How severe must a crime be for a man to be banned? Mutawalees are becoming like referees with red card. They just want to pull it out on first oppotunity.

A masjid is Waqf. It may be built and run by individuals from amongst the community but it belongs to the community at large. This is the house of Allah and He would never stop anyone from turning to Him so I cant see any reason why any man should be banned from attending a masjid.

I don’t know the facts so won’t comment on this case.
But in general Mutawalles get a lot of stick but no one wants to stand on the masiet board, but everyone wants to be critical.
Its like being a ref, no one wants to do it, but everyone blasts them

Our Nabi SAW showed mercy on a Bedouin that urinated in the Haram so I cant see how much worse Cutty Amod’s crime could have been. I just feel that people in positions of power tend to abuse these positions in order to sort out personal vendettas. There is a very distinct difference between being a custodian and being an owner but somehow all these differences fade away as soon as the officials are elected to their positions. I suppose you could call it “clouded judgement” because in most cases these guys make their decisions with their heads up in the clouds. lol

Read the letter on page 6 of The Rising Sun April 10 edition. Why is it that whenever there is controversy regarding the running of a masjid, the name Ebrahim Saeed always seems to come up.?

When fellow Muslim brothers are getting “BANNED” from Masjids you know something is seriously wrong with our Muslim Ummah at Large! As brother M.Feroz Soni made reference to our beloved Nabi S.A.W showing compassion to a man who urinated in a Masjid what gives the right to any muslim to ban a fellow muslim from a place of worship? It’s sad that our Muslim Ummah moves further away from Unity when in these trying times we should be Uniting under all Banners of Faith, Deen, Creed, Cultures & Skin Colours!

Ive read the letter by the Amod family in the Rising Sun. It makes mention of an incident where Cutty broke a masiet window and the Mutawalees made him pay almost double the amount and such fueds were going on like PING PONG. The letter states also that Cutty was and is banned
