A glorious Newlands in November

I guess thats what Test Cricket is about. The Tension, The Skill and the madness. On Day one the wicket was doing things. Michale Clark raced to a century and the Ozzies were skittled out for 280 odd. Abdul “Jack” Manack was my man on the scene and shot some pics for me. SA went into bat on Day 2 and were collapsing quickly. We didnt even make 200.

On Facebook and Blackberry, statuses were belting the Proteas. Fans were Hard Done By. I was conversing with Jack and saying that this is bad. I phoned Moe Cassim and said that after the World Cup disappointment the Proteas owe us and well Look what they have done.

I go in for a meeting and Jack sends me this pic of Fans in Newlands celebrating as Ozzies were six down. I couldnt believe this, The innings had just started. I logged on to Cric Info and there it was 29 for 9. Unbelievable really. I couldnt fathom it.

I heard a story of Gary Kirsten going to see his new born baby and returninging to say that SA are so slow they only scored 20 runs since he left. He was told to look again as this was the SA second innings

Fans in shock as Ozzies Colapse
Joy at Newlands

Smith and Rudolph came out and SA had three days to score 200 plus runs. It was ours to lose. SA lost Rudoplh early and then Hash and Smith went about their business in emphatic fashion. Hash was agressive and maybe too agressive as the SAFS in the Masiet shook Asr time. The last ball of the 2nd day Hash lashed out and was dropped by Hussey. Hash has to curb his agression. The last ball of the day is normally a tentative one and Hash was lucky to survive.

On Day 3 Hash and Smith finished the business before Lunch as both of them grabbed centuries. Hash was dropped again in the Slips. But sometimes you need to ride your luck and SA wrapped up a phenominal victory. SA vs Austrailia never seems to disappoint.

Team Manager Mohammed Moosajee said he has never ever seen a Test Match like that and was jubilant as the boys go one up.
