BAFANA BAFANA VS EGYPT
On Saturday the Madrid Man Riyaad Loonat called me and says that he had aticket for me for the Bafana Bafana game vs Egypt so I tagged along. Myself ,Riyaad and about ten of the Loonat gang. I Must say going back to Ellis Park was emotional. All those Vuvuzellas and the stadium…Oh how I miss the World Cup. When we got there naturally the Alipor chows were flowing ad well Riyad organised Front row seats. Unfortunately when we got there we had okes in our seat. They refused to move. We called security and well done Ellis Park. In a flash there were three massive guards that booted those seat hijackers. The beauty part about it was those fans gave us filthy looks as if we were wrong. And I mean when you have youngster there the last thing you want to do is spoil for a fight. It wrecks your whole evening.
All said and done we watched and sat next to some crazy Bafana Fans. They were passionate. The game was dull and credit to both sides who were pretty solid defensively. The Okes next to us kept screaming at Pitso to change Mpela. And when Abo Treccah came on I told Riyad I had a bad feeling. With the last kick of the game though it was Katlego Mpela who sent Ellis Park into raptures. It was truely fantastic to see the yellow in the crowd come to life. Great Atmosphere.
But since the World Cup I personally cant stand teh Vuvuzelas. A owe cracked it next to my ear during Confeds Cup and since then Ive never been the same he he
But that Mpela strike was massive for qualification and moral. Big goal especially since we still have to travel to Egypt
In Euro qualifiers there were no upsets and notable victories for Italy and England
