LEGEND THAT SHOOK THE BLOG-Roy Keane

I know the Utd Owes will lambast me for this weeks choice of the Mugg of the Week. But I dunno.Firstly for the LEGEND THAT SHOOK THE BLOG.

Im just thinking, what did the number 16 symbolise at Old Trafford. To me from a ABU’S perspective it symbolised Intestinal Fortitude, Guts, Determination, giving it 300%,Never say die , Be a General in Midfield and Clash with other midfield hard man and,Focus on the task at hand and lead your men to the promised land. The Number 16 of Man Utd at the time was the true epitomy of a midfield hard man and an example of what a captain should be. Irish and gifted with a fiery temper that knows just one three letter word.!WIN!. I remember the clashes with Viera in particular, The mans fighting spirit on the pitch, He never died in the game and fought till the death and marshalled his troops like a general. He was as hard as you get, never stuck anyones s#$t and was afraid of no one. I often wondered if JUVE had him in Midfield
I remember watching the Utd DVD “Beyond the Promised Land”. There was a scene where the managers vs the midfielders/defenders vs the strikers in Trivial Pursuit. Keane and his team werent winning. After a while Keane got up,Swore and cussed like a irishman and left the building saying F$#K This shi#4. Such was the mans spirit and will to win. I as a ABU would have Keane as my midfielder any time. And to think he cost Utd 2.7 million punds from Forest. Even the way he lambasted the Utd lities when they showed no heart. THis man was all heart. Roy Keane or Troy Mean definately is a LEGEND THAT SHOOK THE BLOG. Il leave you guys with Keanes words to the press . I got it from a nice Utd site. Biggy and the rest of the Utd Lads

Sir Alex may have said nowt but once again Roy ‘Little Fergie’ Keane has laid into his team-mates following a poor result. Following Norwich’s humiliating beating of United last Saturday Keano has felt the need to go to the press with his assessment of the Red’s failings.
It’s becoming an all too common event over the past few seasons. But he’s right as usual and the players need to heed the advice or some all-too-comfortable ‘stars’ will be out on their ear this summer. And not before time. After Roy Keane’s Rant this week there can be absolutely no doubt as to what Keane – and we suspect Fergie – are expecting from the players against Newcastle this weekends. 100% total commitment.

The great man sayeth:
“People are sick of excuses now. We are running out of them anyway. Results don’t lie and the table doesn’t lie. Our performance levels have not been good enough. Everyone at this club needs to look at themselves and ask whether they are giving 100 percent to the football club. I am not sure all the players can say they are. That is a crime in itself.”

The manager provides everything for the players. Everything they want, they get. All they have to do is come into training every single day with the attitude of trying to help the team improve. It is not about individuals” says Keane.

“It is all right having a laugh in the dressing room but maybe there has been too much laughter. You can go too far the other way. What matters is what happens on the pitch. We have talented players at this club, that is obvious, but talent without work rate and pride is a waste of time. Every player should be fighting for their place at this club. Going back over the years, when we have been at the top of our game, players never took their places in the team or position at the club for granted. That is what made them really good players and what made us an outstanding team.”

swoosh , u the biggest mugg of the week. keano & carrick are 2 completely different players. carrick has been bought to fill the paul scholes role in the future. keane , there will definately be someone to repalce him , not too sure when.keano will always be a united legend.this is why fergie wants hargreaves , to fill the keano role.

I’ve got to agree 100% percent on KEANO being a legend. Probably one of the finest players to have ever pulled on a red shirt! Swoosh, i bet you still cry every time you think about that night in Turin when he and Boys 2 Men – Yorke n Cole inspired the great comeback win!

Gotta agree with Azee on Carrick, still too soon to call him a MUGG but consider his influence that has been absent from Spurs. Last season they pushed the Gunners all the way for 4th, this year they not even close to a CL spot but rather battling Bolton, Everton and Reading for a UEFA Cup spot.

Also if we win the league nobody’s going to say we did it playing 3/4’s of our games with 10 men are they?

swoosh you are candidate for mugg of the week again. carrick is no KEANE but than again KEANE was a once in a generation player. it is true that carrick has not set the world alight but he has not let united down either. he is a major part of a team that is top of the league, in the last phases of the champions league and fa cup. surely he is not that bad. i think you just jumping on the bandwagon in order to generate comments. dont stoop to this level in future. thanks

Swoosh its a justified argument and a good one dont listen to them, its the same as doing a comparison with saha and van nistelrooy, if a player replaces another player and takes over the shirt you have all the right to compare because the previous player is used as a benchmark either to justify the replacement or lambast him as a poor performer, i agree its still early to fully compare carrick and keane but the manager surely intended for a able replacement and carrick as yet has not performed and is deserving of mugg of the week. He doesnt bring enough to the team and he should but maybe he will, only time will tell but i seriously doubt it but valid argument swoosh

Swoosh you a Kebaab. To think Carrick should fill Keano’s boots just cos they share the same shirt number is idiotic. You thinking like a farmer. Keano is a Legend. Carrick is doing a job. Theres nothing special about him. As for the transfer fee, its not alot in todays market. Also keep in mind the fact that his Englsih means you gotta pay extra. Give the man a chance to settle. This is his first season at O.T. I personally feel his doing a job for us. Fare enough he has his bad games, but more good then bad. Even Hargreaves won’t replace keano. His a once in a lifetime player. He might be your mugg of the week, but soon his gonna be your mugg of the week with a Premiership medal around his neck.

gotta agree with the other guys swoosh, looks like u fucked up this time…nobody EVER said that carrick was a replacement for keane…was beckham a replacement for cantona just cos he got the number 7 shirt??NEVER! shirt numbers mean nothing, and i’m sure fergie will be the first to tell u where to stick ur head by saying carrick deserves to be mugg of the week.i said a while ago i’m not sure of him yet but i got faith in him, he will come right, and the boss knows best. he has, after all, been there for 20 YEARS.when vidic and evra came everyone blasted them as a waste, but now no fucker opens his mouth cos both of them have proven their worth. Swoosh! for that slip-up i nominate u mugg of the month! 🙂
